
BSAST in Clinical Laboratory Science
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology (BSAST) degree in Clinical Laboratory Science is limited to certified medical laboratory technologists possessing a required ASCP or AMT; MLT or MT; or NCA: CLS or CLT. Students must present a copy of the original certificate and current renewal card. Required Courses include Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Immunohematology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and Organic and/or Biochemistry (two courses). Corollary Requirements are Chemistry I and II, Biology I and Computer Concepts. Students whose medical laboratory technology training was not completed in a college credit setting may earn credits through Thomas Edison State College’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). The degree is a 120-credit program.
