
Prior to joining the College, Dr. Tillery served as an associate professor and past chair of the Department of Manufacturing Systems at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he also was coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Motorsports Program. At Thomas Edison State College, Dr. Tillery played a key role in developing partnerships in the energy utility industry to create the nation's first online bachelor's degree program in energy utility technology, as part of the educational programs offered by the College to serve the workforce needs of the industry. He also played an instrumental role developing the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trials Management.
Dr. Tillery earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C.; and a Master of Science in Industrial Technology, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Education and Technology from Iowa State University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
