Can Thomas Edison State College help me become a public school teacher?

Yes. Although Thomas Edison State College does not offer a degree in education, the New Jersey Department of Education has recognized Thomas Edison State College as an appropriate venue for students to enter the profession of teaching through the Alternate Route Program.  After completing a bachelor's degree, and meeting the specific requirements outlined by the state, many of our graduates successfully enter into teaching positions in various subjects throughout New Jersey.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Employment as a teacher, through the Alternate Route Program, is gained by individual application to a New Jersey public school district.  Thomas Edison State College does not participate in any way in the employment process of New Jersey school districts.
