Programs for Veterans & Their Families
The Veteran Education Program at Thomas Edison State College accommodates the special needs of veterans and their spouses and dependents. The program is defined by a personal Academic Program Plan where military training, previous college credits and other professional training can be applied towards a degree.
The Veteran Education Program enables veterans and their families to use their GI bill benefits to pay for a flexible college education. Depending on the type of GI benefit a student is using, they may be able to earn their degree with little or no out-of-pocket expenses.*
*Whether or not a student will have out-of-pocket costs depends on which chapter of the GI bill they receive their education benefits from and the amount of those benefits. Some chapters pay the education benefit directly to the veteran, while others pay the education benefit directly to the school.
