If you’re ready to finish your undergraduate degree or start a graduate program, Thomas Edison State College is the right choice. Applying is easy. In fact, our undergraduate programs offer 12 terms during the year, so there’s no need to worry about application deadlines.

Can I apply online or do I need a paper application?
Undergraduate and graduate students  interested in degree programs other than nursing can apply online. Prospective students interested in nursing submit a paper application. Paper applications are also available for non-nursing undergraduate and graduate programs.  Access our applications page.


Do you need copies of my transcript?
Yes. All transcripts should be sent directly to the College from the institution(s) you attended. If you are forwarding transcripts that have been sent first to you, they must arrive at the College in unopened, sealed envelopes from the institution(s) you attended. How do I get copies of my transcript sent to Thomas Edison State College?
Contact the registrar of the institution(s) you attended and request a transcript be sent to Thomas Edison State College. You will need to supply:

  • your name (or previous name at time of attendance)
  • social security number or student ID number
  • dates you attended the institution
  • transcript fee (fees vary; please check with your institution)


Do you require SAT or ACT scores?
No. Students are not required to take the SAT or ACT. You must have a high school diploma or have passed the GED. And you must be 21 years of age. If you’re an international student, the application requirements are slightly different. Learn about applying.


What happens after I apply?
Applications are acknowledged via letter and e-mail. The College provides all applicants with an evaluation of past college credits, professional and/or military training and other experiences. Once you’re accepted, you’ll receive login information that enables you to track progress of your evaluation. Your evaluation will help determine how your college-level credits can transfer to Thomas Edison State College. Learn more about transferring credit.  Then it’s time for you to enroll.


How do I enroll?
You can enroll immediately upon acceptance. Select a tuition plan that fits with your schedule, then pay your annual enrollment tuition. You may pay online, by phone or by mail. Access our Enrollment Page.
