Shalita is responsible for the planning and implementation of the overall human resources functions, including the administration of salaries, benefits, recruitment, orientation, staff development and training.
In making the announcement, Michael J. Scheiring, vice president and treasurer at Thomas Edison State College, said, “We are absolutely thrilled that Mindi is with us again. Her experience with the College and with the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations will serve the College and the New Jersey State Library community well in this important leadership position.”
Shalita, who worked for Thomas Edison State College from 1990 to 2003, was most recently an employee relations coordinator in the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (OER), where she was one of the principal representatives of the governor, responsible for negotiating state union contracts including IFPTE, CWA and AFT. Shalita has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., and a Master of Science in Management degree from Thomas Edison State College. She is a member of the Pension and Health Benefits Review Commission and the New Jersey Chapter of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.
Shalita, who began her employment at Thomas Edison State College in 1990 in the Office of the Controller and served as associate director of Human Resources from 2000-2003, said, “I enjoy working with people and am happy to be back as a member of the Thomas Edison State College family. The College has an inspiring mission and purpose. As director of Human Resources, my goal is to use best practices to optimize current employees’ contributions and to hire employees with the skills that are the right “fit” for our organization’s unique culture.”
